Many of the "find a painter" sites you'll find on the Web simply charge a fee for a listing on their site. Virtually anyone claiming to be a contractor can pay this fee and become listed on those sites.
That is simple advertising, and there's nothing wrong with it — some of our participating contractors may also be listed on those sites in order to promote their businesses in as many ways as possible.
